The story below was devised as a project for my wriing group. We were told first to write down three life events such as birth of a child, marriage, starting school or whatever.

Second we wrote a short paragraph about that event. I chose marriage and wrote my paragraph.

Third we were all given eight index cards and told to write four names on one, two places on the next etc.

Fourth, we switched cards with other people. L

I ended  up with my paragraph about marriage and the following things to work into my piece of writing: Remember these were given to me by someone else.

Names: Stephen, Kristin, Roy, Bill  

Colors: Purple, red

Places: At home in kitchen, Florida at beach

Emotions: happy, uncomfortable

Subconflict:  Lost keys

Two conversations: For this I was given the words   "I'm sorry" and "You're late"

For a pet I got lab dog

Weather: Sunny day of spring

I gave a workshop last night with David Bell . This was at the Hilltop library.
