The story below was devised as a project for my wriing group. We were told first to write down three life events such as birth of a child, marriage, starting school or whatever.
Second we wrote a short paragraph about that event. I chose marriage and wrote my paragraph.
Third we were all given eight index cards and told to write four names on one, two places on the next etc.
Fourth, we switched cards with other people. L
I ended up with my paragraph about marriage and the following things to work into my piece of writing: Remember these were given to me by someone else.
Names: Stephen, Kristin, Roy, Bill
Colors: Purple, red
Places: At home in kitchen, Florida at beach
Emotions: happy, uncomfortable
Subconflict: Lost keys
Two conversations: For this I was given the words "I'm sorry" and "You're late"
For a pet I got lab dog
Weather: Sunny day of spring
Below is my writing.:

I gave a workshop last night with David Bell . This was at the Hilltop library.
For Memoirs group: Did you ever tell a story...a fib, as a child? Write about that and what happened as a result.
